Text Box: “OH, VIRGIL!”

The Virgil Thomson Foundation has honored the Woodstock Fringe with a two-year matching grant of $22,000 to support the creation of a new play based on the life of the great composer and music critic, Virgil Thomson.  A workshop production will be seen in the 2007 Woodstock Fringe Festival of Theatre and Song!  Larry Alan Smith, Artistic Director of American SongFest, and Wallace Norman, Producing Artistic Director of the Woodstock Fringe, will collaborate on the writing of this new work, tentatively titled, “Oh, Virgil!”

The 2007 Wintergreen Summer Music Festival and Academy begins on July 9, 2007. 

Larry Alan Smith, Artistic and Executive Director of Wintergreen Performing Arts, has planned a three-week festival that includes 75 events.

The festival takes place at Wintergreen Resort in Wintergreen, VA.  There are many innovations this year, including the creation of a composition program as part of the Wintergreen Summer Music Academy.
